"This is what the Lord says: "Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, and ask where the good way is, and walk in it. You will find rest for your soul."

"The Tree Thief"

By Jerry Stewart - Vision Productions mistletoe  It's not a tree or a bush- it's a parasite.  But at Christmas time people love it.  What is it?

It's a parasite, its name means "tree thief".  But, strangely enough people love it.

Some believe it's a magical plant that wards off disease.  Hunters place it in their hats to bring good luck for the hunt. Young girls put it under their pillows to bring sweet dreams.

It is even the official flower of the state of Oklahoma.

Just what seemingly useless parasite plant am I talking about?  It's mistletoe.

And it's magical, all right, stand under it and see what happens.  You get a kiss.

Now none of us today expect it to do any of these magical things, but it does one very special thing- it provides hope to those who like to kiss.

So, keep looking up.
