"The Golden Rule"
By Jerry Stewart - Vision Productions We all know the Golden Rule, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. But does the Golden Rule work as a way of life? Here’s a true story to consider.
In 1875 a boy was born on a small farm in Kentucky, and immediately his parents taught him how to treat people – by using the Golden Rule.
Later when he grew up and began to pursue his own business endeavors, he took the Golden Rule teaching with him – other businessmen mocked him, saying it would never work.
In 1899 he opened his first store by that name, and to the doubting merchant’s surprise, it became a huge success. So he started another and another until, finally, in 1946 James “J.C” Penney retired with 1,612 stores.
So, does the Golden Rule work? Why not give it a try and see for yourself.
