160pxt_jefferson_by_charles_willson_peale_1791_2    WE ALL KNOW THOMAS JEFFERSON. NOT ONLY WAS HE OUR SECOND PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, HE WAS THE ONE CHOSEN TO WRITE THE FIRST DRAFT TO THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE.

BUT, DID YOU KNOW THAT WHEN HE WROTE THE DECLARATION HE WAS ONLY 33 YEARS OLD. HE WASN’T AN OLD MAN AT ALL. IN FACT, HE WAS THE YOUNGEST MAN THERE. BUT HE WAS VERY WISE FOR HIS YEARS AND A VERY GOOD WRITER.

BUT AS A PUBLIC SPEAKER HE WAS VERY SHY. IN FACT,

LATER, JOHN ADAMS SAID THAT DURING THE WHOLE TIME HE SERVED WITH JEFFERSON IN CONGRESS, HE NEVER HEARD HIM UTTER MORE THAT THREE SENTENCES TOGETHER.

AND WHAT DID THOMAS JEFFERSON HAVE TO SAY ABOUT GOD AND THE IMPORTANCE OF HIS HOLY PRESCENCE IN OUR NATION:

"I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, and that His justice cannot sleep forever."— Thomas Jefferson
